Tree that Dog!

Sterling Earhart's Hickory put a new meaning to
sticking to the tree when he climbed up a tree
after a squirrel and then 'looked down'. Sterling
is lucky to have a friend like Roger Littlejohn to come
to his and Hickory's rescue. Hickory is out of Tia
and Radio Flyer. We bought him from Dean Wright and
Sterling purchased him from Galla Creek!
Here is Littlejohn's version to the story and the
3 pictures he shared with us!
Last Friday afternoon I received a phone call from Sterling
(my hunt'n buddy) who was at Cheatham WMA. His dog "Hickory"
had chased a squirrel out on a blown over tree that spanned a
creek bed. When Hickory realized he was "out on a limb" he
froze and could/would not move. I took a climbing deer stand
to Sterling (I was the only one who knew where he was hunting
on this 20,000 plus acres) and he was able to climb up an
adjoining tree and reach Hickory who was then lowered to me
via a rope etc. Hickory stayed motionless on this tree for
about 4 hours before we could get him rescued.

Hickory goes out on a limb after a squirrel!
Sterling then goes out on a limb for Hickory.
Here Sterling is making his way up a tree on the deer stand
