Galla Creek Nell--Mountain Feist Squirrel Dog Pup--For Sale!!

Here is a little video of Nell, the Mountain Feist Squirrel Dog pup, whose parents are Lia and Ole Dan. Lia is out of Nogo Nell and Pretty Boy Floyd and we named Nell for her Grandmother, Sq. Champion, Nogo Nell. Here you will see Nell trying to beat the heat by sitting in her water bowl! Bandit, her full Mountain Feist sister, is upset and tries to let Nell know but Nell just ignores her. Nell will be old enough to take to the woods this fall. She is registered NKC and priced at $400.00!

Remembering Nogo Nell--A Bonny Lass

Pete Powers called from Texas and told us Nogo Nell had passed away.  She was 12 years old.  She had spit and vinegar!  No stop to her.  What a Feist.  What a squirrel dog.  Nell's sire was Langford's Rowdy.  I am proud she came from Galla Creek.  Rest in peace, 'Ol Nell.
Nothing more fitting to remember Nell than the poem about Nell written in the 1700's by Robert Burns!  Read and remember Nogo Nell--a handsome Feist, a bonny lass, indeed.

Handsome Nell

O Once I lov'd a bonnie lass, 

An' aye I love her still,

An' whilst that virtue warms my breast, 

I'll love my handsome Nell. 

As bonnie lasses I hae seen,

Lia/Dan Pups

Above is Dan's mother--she is a granddaughter of Old Rowdy. Below is Lia--she is a granddaughter of Old Rowdy. Lia is the dog standing on the tree.
Dan and Lia pups now have no dew claws and tails have been shortened. I am going through my deposits and I think with my Opal Tie pups. I will have enough to fill the orders I have. If I have extra pups I will post it on the blog. Lia is out of Pretty Boy Floyd and Nogo Nell. Nell is a Sq. Champion and Floyd a Grand Sq. Champion. Dan is a grandson of Nell. Galla Creek Belle, Old Rowdy, Romeo. His Mother's mother is a Sq. Champion and a daughter of Rowdy. She is a red Feist (Pepper) and Bruce Blihovde still owns her. She has to be 10 or 11 years old. Pepper looked a lot like Galla Creek Belle, but was slimmer like Nell. Nell is a direct daughter of Rowdy. Galla Creek Belle is a granddaughter of old Rowdy. Floyd is a littermate to Bonnie Sue Parker and a full brother to Spud. Saying all this to say--there is some good blood in these 6 pups veins!

Victoria Scroggins is holding the litter of Dan and his brothers and sisters. He is the black and white pup on top of the bunch. Dan's ticking came as he grew up. He got his color from his mother, Pris!

and Dixie on the right. They are doing extremely well.
Dixie looks and acts just like Nell... head shaking and
barking every breath on the tree!

Nell and Her Namesake

Above is Galla Creek Nell and below is her Grandmother Galla Creek Nogo Nell! We named Nell as a little pup, but she sure looks like her namesake!

Galla Creek Flint

Tommy Collins of Willis, TX sent pictures
of Flint in his new home. Tommy has Dan
out of Nogo Nell and Annie out of Sparky.
Flint is out of Ohio Lia and Spud. Tommy
was amazed at all the ways his 3 dogs are
related.
Nell is Dan's mother and Flint's grandmother.
Flint's Father and Annie's mother are full
siblings. Dan's father, Romeo, and Nogo Nell
both go back to Old Rowdy! Romeo's father is
Max--he is also the father of Flint's father
and Lia's father. And I am so confused I am
not sure how else they are related....but I
know Tommy loves all three of the dogs!

Galla Creek Floyd and Ole Dan

Dan and Floyd are from the Lia and Ole Dan litter. We named the litter after ancestors. Dan was named after his sire and grandsire and Floyd was named for Lia's sire. Dan goes to Tony Marshall and Floyd is going to the Heath Thomas home in LA to team up with Zoey! The video is short. Floyd was not wanting to stay in the little bucket so he is only shown a split second! All the Lia pups are so nice. Spook is mine. Pepper goes to Matt Howell. Pat James gets to pick between Nell and Pris. Pepper is named after her Great Grandmother, Bruce Blihovde's Pepper. Spook is named for my Spook, grandmother more than once. I'm calling her Bandit. Nell is named for Lia's mother, Nogo Nell and Pris is named for Ole Dan's mother, Pris. Grandmother Pris is out of Bruce B's Pepper and Dale, son of Ole Rowdy! I am naming the Opal litter after nicknames of former presidents and first ladies.

Galla Creek Dan

The Parkers brought Dan by to see me. He sure is a beauty. I am going to raise a litter of pups out of Lia and Dan. Lia's mother is Nogo Nell. Nell is Dan's grandmother. I am always excited to try a new cross. Dan's father is a son of Nell and Romeo. His mother is Old Rowdy bred.

Hi Larry, here's a couple of pictures of my pup out
of Nogo Nell and Spud taken in Michigan this morning.
I wanted a picture of her on the tree but with a cell
phone and her acting like a pogo-stick it wasn't possible.
She treed three squirrels but we were only lucky enough to
get one out before it got in a den. Thanks to you and Julian
Swann for making this cross and thanks to Dean Wright for
helping me get this pup, so far I really enjoy her.

Galla Creek Nell

This little lemon and white female, Nell, is out of Lia and Ol' Dan. She is the only pup that I have left from my two litters. Ronnie Abels spoke for Dutch.

Nell is rambunctious and really investigative and busy. She needs a hunting home. Call me if you want to know more about her. She is ready now. 479 890 8090.

Nogo Nell

We got Nogo Nell near Nogo, Ar. She now lives in Texas. I found this picture of her in an old file. There was no quit in Nell.

Sq. Champion Nogo Nell

Juliann Swann owns Nogo Nell. She is here visiting and
having a little Valentine weekend with Spud. Once a
guy writing a Magazine article about squirrel dogs wanted
a perfect picture of what he thought an Old Feist looked
like he used Nell's photo in his story. She is cat-footed
like all the old Feist and fine boned. Also, a little independent
like the one old Abe Lincoln wrote about in 1845.

Mountain Feist Squirrel Dogs!

Galla Mountain Feists--Lia and Tie--find a squirrel even though they are tied to a Zip Lines. They are anxious to get to the big woods again whne the weather cools off! Galla Creek Romeo

Romeo is the grandfather of Rowda (Sugar) Catfish's mother. Rowda's sire is Dan, son of Nogo Nell and Romeo. Nell is out of Old Rowdy. Romeo is out of Bell whose sire is Fred (son of Old Rowdy). Pris is Catfish's grandmother (mother of Rowda. Pris is out of Dale (son of Old Rowdy and brother of Fred). Romeo's sire is Max--who is Spud's sire! Spud's mother is Spook. ;Spook's mother and Max' sire were brother and sister. Around and around the wheel turns--like on wheel of fortune. No matter where the wheel stops on the gene pool of Catfish; it will land on a squirrel dog! Pris' grandmother is Pepper--a daughter of Old Rowdy! Billy Floyd of LA is coming to pick Catfish up tomorrow!

Spook and Nell~Galla Mountain Feists

Spook and Nell are both sold to Louisiana to Danny! I sure will miss them as they are loads of fun to work with. They will still be here a week or two.

Lia Pups are Growing and Doing Great!

Lia's pups are growing and looking good. They were born March

30th...so they are 15 days old today.  They are all spoken for but we

have not gotten a deposit on the solid white male...so he may be still

available.   We ask for a deposit so we don't hold a pup for 6 weeks and

turn folks down who want one...then at last minute be told--"I don't 

think I can take the puppy".  It is like a mini contract between us and

the buyer.  These pups are special.  Lia is out of Nell, Nell is out of Rowdy.

Lia is out of Floyd, Floyd is out of Spook and Max.  Max is the father of

the litter so the genes are stacked for producing great results in the squirrel

woods!

These are Lia's two little girls--Dinah and Zebby.  They go to

the Redmon  family and Brian Spain. Brian picked the female

with the thinnest blaze face.  They are both beautiful.

The white pup with black spots is Levi and he is going to the

Spradlins.  The black pup with white and black trim is Judah and his new

home is with the Taylors in Turtletown, TN.

Here are the 3 white males: Rueben, Simeon and Issachar.  Rueben is going

to David Beach (he is lemon/white).  Issachar has lemon on his cheecks and

is going to the Middleton/Parker family.  Simeon is mostly white.  Someone

spoke for him, but we have not got the deposit so he may be available.

Galla Creek Dan

Dan is out of Nogo Nell and Amos Moses. He really

has the build of Nell. Tom Collins of Texas owns

Dan. He has a pup out of Sparky and Amos, Ann.

Both his pups are treeing and he loves them.

That is always the best part of the conversation

when we talk to folks about Galla Creek Feist...

they love the dogs. We want to raise excellent

squirrel dogs, but we want them in the hands

of responsible owners so they will have a good

home!

Dan and Ann are both treeing up a storm.

We heard from Baby Face Nelson yesterday.

Adam Patterson of MS owns him. He said

they had a good hunt and Nelson treed a

bunch. Adam killed eight and it did not

take long. Wish he would send us a

picture of Nelson on the tree. Nelson is

from the same litter as: Bonnie Sue

Parker and Pretty Boy Floyd.
