In our area of Arkansas a squirrel dog thatcan tree but can't timber a squirrel is useless.
Squirrels can easily timber a mile in the tops
of trees here. When the Feist trees and then
starts running under the trees looking up and
barking we always yell, 'timbering'. It is so
much fun...and sometimes the squirrel loses
his grip and falls, tumbling to the ground and
a real chase is on!

Don't you just love to watch the dog run and bark at the squirrel as it timbers out ? the dog gets so excited. It is so funny to watch Tack run after one he starts to spin around in circles and barks like crazy his voice changes when the squirrel is timbering from what it is when he first trees.
