Tack loves water to. He will get in the creek and run back and forth and splash water all over his self. He will get out in the lake also. but when he is running loose at home I keep a pan of water by the garage door and when he gets to hot he will go to that pan and put his front feet in it and dig like he is digging in the ground and splash the water under his belly. He is a very smart dog
I know Tack is a special dog. Just think...Cranky, Romeo, Bell, Fred, Old Rowdy, Little Red Feist.
I think that is what some Feist breeders don't have...they don't know the dogs in the background so there is no history of genetics. All the dogs named behind Tack were great squirrel dogs...and that is on his father's side. Mother's side goes... Mandy, Cocoa (that photo was of her as she is Nell's mother), Cocoa's father was a dog named Rusty. He was red with a black mask. He got hit by a car when about 3 years old. Rusty's father was Fred and Fred's Old Rowdy. Rowdy's mother was the little Red Feist that cayotes killed when she was 10 years old. She was a registered Feist. Tack has a family of squirrel dogs. Sandy Watson owned Little Red. He was an old man and said she was the best he ever owned.
You are right Tack is a very special dog. I know that it comes from his genetics and that is why I tell everyone I know that is even thinking about a squirrel dog to go to Galla Creek and see what you all have to offer first. I keep saying that Galla Creek is the # 1 place if you want a good dog. I don't mean any dis-respect to other people that have good dogs I know that alot of other people have good dogs too but I don't know about them like I do Galla Creek.
