Nelson Going Strong

New pictures of Nelson (out of Bandit and Max) came yesterday. He was hunting near Toxish, MS. I don't even know where that is but he is pretty pleased with Nelson and I am too. Here's his email:

I hope all is well with ya'll this week. Here are a couple of pictures of Nelson from the weekend. He is really doing well. The last month has probably been the best that I've seen from him. He is treeing lots of squirrels, and he's been very accurate. I appreciate the opportunity to get to hunt him regularly. Have a great week.

God Bless,

Adam Patterson

Opal Pup Showing Out

Brad and Cathy Schaufler of Viola Ar. are owners of this Opal pup--born last April. I was pleased to hear how she is doing and see her in action photos. Here is the email I received about her. Opal will be breed to Matt Howell's Rosco when she comes in season. This pup is out of Shooter.
Hello Larry,
Here is the pictures of Chaney. I have included one of when she was a pup and the other 3 are of her treeing. Both squirrels were in a hole.
We went yesterday in the snow and she treed two squirrels. I jumped one squirrel out and she caught it before it got to the other tree. The other squirrel timbered out and went across the tops of the trees, she followed it to the den tree and it went in a hole. She treed her first squirrel at 5 and a half months and has never slowed down. She is doing great.
Me and the wife just want to thank you for letting us own such a great dog.
Brad and Cathy
P.S. She is out of Opal and her papered name is Taffeta

Send Me A Sermon, Billy

Sherry Vance sent this photo of Billy Graham, the Preacher. Hasn't he grown! Preacher is out of Olive Oyl and Max. He does look a lot like Ole Max. The little friend, is Alli.
Sing me a sermon, Preacher,
Sing it at the tree
Like the old Arbor meeting
Howl about Galilee!
With feet on the tree, Billy
Lift your voice 'ward the sky
Sing me a song, Preacher
Like Max by and by!

Leashing At Tree

A smart way to train a dog is to leash him at the tree.
This teaches the Feist to stay with the tree. Wait until
the squirrel is through timbering.
