Burlap is Jake

Harvey Langley sent pictures of Jake and his new quarters. Jake gets to stay
in the house some and I know he loves that. He is out of Bonnie Sue Parker and
Radio Flyer--here is Harvey's message
Howdy Larry & Betty -
Just thought I'd send you a little update on our Jake (Burlap). He's doing great & really growing. Still doesn't like to be confined or away from us. We've been trying to house train him & getting him accustomed to being 'penned' up. He is of course, totally outraged & indignant at being 'treated like dog' even a pampered one. He cries & 'screams' like a kid having a tantrum when we put him in the pet taxi or in the new pen. Was going to have him spend his first night in there last night but I don't have a top or cover on it yet & was afraid that his 'crying' might attract aerial predators (owls, etc.) so we kept him in the carrier again. I'm putting a wire top & a partial cover over it today so tonight he'll spend his first night there. It is 4x12' & 'portable, but heavy enough that he (or other dogs, varmints, etc.) can't move it. Thought he'd settle down by now but he still wants to be with someone all the time. He's getting better & I'm sure he'll do OK, just may take a little more time. Here's pix of his new 'digs' -

Train Them Up!

Proverbs 22:6--Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Astrid enjoys fishing, hunting, dogs and anything outside in nature. I hope she will continue to be like
this when she is old and remember some of the things we did together. We caught a bunch of bream and 2 catfish Sunday afternoon. Monday night we had a feast of fried fish and squash puppies and big
slices of onion. The vegetables were compliments of Troy Vance.

Khaki to LA

Troy and Rebecca Constance came from near New Orleans to pick up Galla Creek Khaki--pup out of Bonnie Sue Parker and Radio Flyer. Troy is excited about squirrel hunting and Rebecca just liked Khaki for her personality. Sigrid approved the new home. They had Siggie's Seal of
a good home. Siggie told her Mom that she was going to their house soon to see them and Khaki!

Brown Sugar ~ White Razor

Tim Taylor's Brown Sugar has pups with White Razor. Sugar is out of our Carolina Crossfire and Peanut. She was born on Galla Creek. Razor was born here too. He is a son of Galla Creek Daisy
and McAndrews Raider. Tim will sell some of the litter. I can see that many of the pups look like their grandsire, G. W. Carver who we called Peanut. Peanut came from the old Peanut Beaty dogs. Carolina is out of Charlie Cross' Brownie. Daisy is out of Spook and Max. We don't have to tell you about McAndrews Raider. If you are in AL area and looking for a great Feist pup, now is your opportunity. You can email Tim Taylor--taylortimjennife@hughes.net--
