High on Sugar

Tim Taylor sent this photo of Sugar! This little dog could give
you hypoglycemia--high on Sugar. Tim said that Little
Sugar was treed on this high, high bank and that the
pic does not do this justice to the occasion. The squirrel was
about 30 yards over she does not have to stand on the tree
because she is eye level to it. Tim shot the squirrel and Sug
came off this bank and retrieved it. This little 18 pound dog
does not know she is not King Kong! Sugar is our of Carolina
Crossfire and G. W. Carver--born right here on Galla Creek!

Riverhawk's Dogs and Dilemma

Riverhawk (Troy Vance) shared the pictures of his little
dog, ShagNasty! She is a daughter of Zipporah and Spud
and is treeeing up a storm at 7 months. This picture was
right before dark so it isn't very clear.

The coon are manually spinning the dispenser on Troy's corn feeder so
the corn will sprew out and everyone gets to join in for a party of corn.
Troy covered the control with a wire cage but the smart little raccons
tore it off and spun the wheel again. They allow the deer to come to
the feast! My corn feeder has a timer, but Troy does not need one with
his smart coons!

Snickers Treeing

Snickers is out of All Cranked Up and Spud. Craig Adams of Texas owns her. We enjoyed the little video and wanted to share it on the blog. Here is Craig's email that came along with the video--HELLO LARRY AND MRS.BETTY THUOGHT Y'ALL MIGHT LIKE THIS. I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY MY LUCK AT CATCHING A SQUIRELL AGAIN, AND FINALLY I CAUGHT ONE. THEN THE FUN STARTS, I TIED HIM UP IN A TREE AND WENT AND TURNED SNICKERS LOOSE TO SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN. THIS IS THE FIRST AND PROBABLY LAST ONE SHE WILL SEE IN A CAGE, CAUSE I DONT THINK SHE NEEDS IT JUST MORE TIME IN THE WOODS. ANYWAY IT DIDNT TAKE HER LONG TO FIND HIM AND SHE CUT LOOSE, I LET HER BARK AT HIM A LITTLE BIT THEN PETTED HER UP AND PUT HER BACK UP. THEN THAT AFTERNOON TOOK HER TO THE WOODS AND IT SEEMED SHE WAS REALY LOOKING HARD FOR A SQUIRELL. HOPE YALL LIKE IT, FOR SURE I'M NO MOVIE MAKER. LOL THANKS AGAIN CRAIG

Training a Mountain Feist Squirrel Dog

I had a different video embeded here...but I made mistakes
using the whoa bench. Tim Taylor gave me some pointers. I
did not want to leave a video with problems in it posted so
I made a new one. I would never want to misinform anyone
about any training!!
Tim Taylor is an expert with a Whoa Bench, and I am just a
beginner. My bench is narrow, but I think I like it that way.
Here is a video of the first lesson of whoa and come. A lesson
should only last about 3 to 5 minutes.

Galla Creek Shamrock

Jr. Green called me and he said he was skipping
Shammy this heat but in the summer he will bring
her back here to breed to perhaps Radio Flyer.
Jr. lives in Dubach, LA...I think Shammy may be
about the best dog I have ever raised! I did not
say prettiest...I said best.
