Dog House Hilton

Matt Howell's friend, R. L., made this cedar dog house for his new Feist. He saved the cedar from a closet in his house. He bought an older house and remodeled the entire thing. He wanted a nice dog house so he and Matt decided to make it out of the salvaged cedar. The top lifts off, but also the house lifts off the floor so it will be easy to clean out. R. L.'s Feist came from near Mena, AR. He is a pup from Sadie (Rosco and Dot offspring) and Cedar. Cedar is out of Shooter and a daughter of Old Rowdy. The pup had not been handled at all. We are hoping to get news that he is getting the pup tamed down. Pups need to be petted and handled to learn to be partners with man. Siggie takes care of this chore for us.

Love the dog house! I think fleas hate cedar so it may also be pest free.

Snow Everywhere!

Matt did not have to go to school because of the snow. His father in law, Hoyt, invited him to go hog hunting yesterday. Matt killed this big hog. Took 3 shots. Matt lives near Mansfield, AR.
Don't really know where he went hog hunting.
Snow in Texas at the Vances. Dogs will be getting in those houses.
Snow in Tennessee. Littlejohn sent this picture of Number 7. He is not quite sure what this snow is!
Snow here in Galla Meadow!

Rosco is Back!

Matt took Rosco on his first hunt since his heart worm treatment. Matt hunted him only about 10 minutes at a time and rotated other dogs to hunt and put Rosco up. Rosco was rearing to go and treed 4 squirrels in his little time of hunting. Matt got 2 of them. Matt said the heart worm treatment for Rosco cost $500.00 but it was worth it to have Rosco alive and well.

We use Ivomec for heart preventive. Matt said he ran out and let time slip away. Rosco was feeling poorly and was diagnosed with the heart worms.

Go, Rosco!
