Flower Garden

Astrid found this little toad in the flower garden I have worked so hard in this summer. Now I am enjoying the blooms.

July 2004

This was taken in July of 2004. That is my little Astrid, 5 years ago. The pups are out of Romeo and Nogo Red. I ran into a guy last week at Wal-Mart in Morrilton, AR that has a male from this litter. He calls him Gunner and says he is the most awesome dog he has ever owned. He hunts squirrel in the day and coon at night. Also, lives with the family in the house. Astrid is holding a pup I call Micky McDee. He went to a deputy sheriff in South Carolina....I have never heard from them again. Still, I wonder about all my pups.

Carolina Crossfire

Carolina Crossfire has a new home with Richard and Kym Brown. The Browns have moved to AR from FL and live in a log cabin near Batesville, AR. They own 3 male Feist--Yippi, Skippy, and Cuddles. Carolina Crossfire very likely comes from the same lines of Feist as the Brown's male dogs. They were born in Sevier County, Tenn. Same area as Carolina. We are excited for Carolina to get be the Princess of the new estate in the Mountains. Richard said a squirrel was eating on their 3 story log house. I think Carolina will put a stop to that immediately. We will miss little "Brownie" as we called her, but are happy to see her go to such a wonderful family of Feists!

Dangerous Time

Roger Littlejohn shared this photo of Mr. Copperhead. Most Feists want to kill them, but often get bitten trying. The bite is not usually fatal, but the dog will swell and feel badly for a few days. Belle Starr has been bitten many times. When she sees a Copperhead, I try to get her away from it and kill it myself. She grabs and slings to destroy. I am afraid she will sling him my way. From now until cool weather in Arkansas the Copperheads are seen in the late evening. They will just lay still and wait for you to step on them and then bite you.

Thanks, Roger for sharing. The little Feist is Pretty Boy Smarty out of Floyd, who is out of Spook and Max.
