Roger Littlejohn owns Smarty and Sterling Earhart is the master of Axle. They are out of Floyd and Smarty. Floyd is from Spook and Max and I think Smarty is a half sister to Spook. The Feists have the same parents, but Smarty is from an older litter. Roger may have to tie his pup to keep him from taking the tree down when he trees.
Nelson is doing great. Adam Patterson sent these photos. The one with big hog was when he took his coaching friend squirrel hunting. His friend shot the hog.
These are photos of Adam's Uncle and his son. His cousin had a new BB gun and he was the sharp shooter for all of Nelson's work! He did great with his gun.
Gary Pruitt sent a picture of Jessie (out of Rosco and Randi) with his son Nick. Jessie is a sister to June and July and Bell who were all here at Galla Creek when they found homes. This gives a lot of promise to these three. Jessie is about 6 months older than they are--previous litter. Here is Gary's email. You can tell he is pleased with how Jessie is doing!
Matt sent a video of Rosco when he was a pup. I like to teach my Feist pups to speak on command. This old video shows Rosco 'talking' when Matt tells him to. When they start treeing you can say 'talk to 'em' and the pup knows you mean for him to bark. King Tut treed another squirrel solo yesterday afternoon and Matt shared the picture with us. I appreciate Matt's love of squirrel hunting!
Roger Littlejohn sent a picture of Smarty. He is a grandson of Ole Max. He has one blue eye. That trait comes from Max. The first few years we bred Max to females....no blue eyes and then in about every litter we would get a pup with a blue eye. Dixie has two blue eyes. Cocoa (below) has greenish eyes. I guess a genetics expert could explain it to us but I don't understand it. Spud and Floyd also throw pups with blue eyes occasionally. Smarty is a son of Floyd and Floyd a son of Max. Their sight is not affected.
