Getting Gifts

When we met Wayne Hawkins in Nashville, TN, he gave us a tree. It is a Catalpa and he knew that we had dreamed of having one here in the Meadow. Lee Moore presented us with two Mums for our newest flower garden. Hope we can keep them nourished and remember these givers for years to come as we enjoy the tree and blooms! Thanks, guys!

Fare Thee Well!

Bonnie Belle, Truck and April will be leaving Saturday. Bonnie and Truck will be traveling all the way to South Carolina. April is going to Tennessee, but almost to Kentucky. We may never see them again, but we say 'fare thee well' sweet babes. We want to hear of happy homes and bountiful hunting for these three in years to come. April is going where we sent Belle Starr's son, Tucker, 9 years ago. His life has been one we dreamed of for him. Here's hoping we are selecting the best of the best homes for our Feists and we say 'fare thee well' little friends.

Antiquated goodbye formulations, such as ‘fare-well’, or the even older, ‘fare thee well’ reveal that at the heart, goodbyes are blessings. We bless the other person’s going and coming, wishing that they may be well while away…In order to make our goodbyes a blessing, all we have to do is to pay attention to the moment and create an intention of goodwill in our heart.
