Cora 2010-2022

Cora with Sigrid
Our last Galla Feist passed today.  Larry raised not only Cora, but her parents too.  Plus, he owned the grandparents.  A little bit of me died too.  Cora’s paper name was Cora Vet.  Her mother was Bonnie Sue Parker and her sire, Tie that binds.

Riley Will Be Remembered

We were saddened to hear that another Galla Feist is gone.  Riley was out of Tie and Patch.   She had a loving home with the Drew Bardenwerper Family.  We only have three Galla Feists left here with us.  Hopefully, some of our dogs have pups out there.  Merry Christmas from Galla Creek.

Mr and Mrs Renfroe,
Merry Christmas!! I hope y’all are doing great!!
We lost our Riley girl Saturday to sudden illness.  Rough couple weeks... she was the very best dog ever!!  I can’t express how thankful we are for her.  We are blessed in many ways,  but Riley was once in a lifetime... I don’t know if you are still having puppies or know anyone who has some of your bloodlines I would appreciate  your help.   Again, you two are the reason for so many memories and I am forever thankful.  Call me and we will catch up.  Merry Christmas!!

Lady 2003-2017

Mr. and Mrs. Renfroe,

It is with an extremely saddened heart I am sharing Lady is no longer with us - May 28, 2003 to November 10, 2017.  She was the smartest and greatest dog I have ever owned.  As I was looking back at some of her puppy pictures, I was reminded of how you had moved us from the bottom of a long waiting list to the very top and even gave us pick of the litter when there were only two pups (Maybeline and Lady).

Attached is one of the last pictures I took as she enjoyed some time in my lap.

Thank you again so much for affording us the opportunity to have Lady become such a large part of our family's life.

God's blessings,
David

LOVING friend, the gift of one,
Who, her own true faith, hath run,
Through thy lower nature ;
Be my benediction said
With my hand upon thy head,
Gentle fellow-creature !

Lady to the Max

David Shinn is always so kind to share a photo of Lady on her birthday.  She is a pup out of our Pris Wilkerson.  Her Grandmother is our angel, Belle Starr.  Her father ole Max.  Little Lady is 14 and still going strong running the squirrels up the tall trees and singing her treeing song.

Thanks, David Shinn, for sharing with us!

Spud Saving On Dog Food Bill

Been letting Spud run loose.  Yesterday, he caught a squirrel and this morning he had this coon treed.  He is trying to keep me from having to buy as much dog food!

RIP Galla Creek Oliver

Galla Creek Oliver--Tie
September 6, 2008--February 15, 2017
Born, raised, and buried on Galla Creek!

Here is an old video of Tie treeing made by my friend, Matt Howell.  I can hear Matt saying, "good, boy, good boy!"  That was Tie a good boy.  He was easy on the eyes and easy to love.  I am proud to say he never went a day without his supper.  He was part of our family and we will remember him forever.  Last July, he had a cancer removed and Doc Davis told me when it returned he would go quickly and he did.  He ate his food this morning and was gone by afternoon.

Staying Busy

Spud is staying busy in his retirement.  Yesterday when I looked out the back door.  I saw this field rat he had left for me.  He goes swimming in the pond and Galla Lake several times a day and stays on the move almost all day and much of the night.  I hear him treed everyday back at a big wild Cherry tree at the edge of Galla Meadow.  July 22, he will be 11 and I say..."Spud, do whatever you want to".  He has earned his days to roam free.

Spud

Spud will be 11 years old July 22.  I turned him out of the pen.  He is a free man.  He can do what he wishes.  Everyday he goes swimming and trees squirrels near Galla Meadow.
Spud is a great Mountain Feist--no better Feist ever born--in my opinion.
His eyes, nose and ears still work like a young dog's.
He still will get out front of the four wheeler and zoom down the path.

Cora Enjoys the Fireworks

Most dogs hate July 4th.  The noise hurts their ears, but Cora watches it just like a human.  She never seems to be bothered by the booms.

Lady is 13!!

Lady is 13.  It does not seem like that long ago she was a little pup born on Galla Creek.  Pris Wilkerson is her mother, old Max her father, and Belle Starr her dear Grandmother!  Thanks to David Shinn for letting us see her again!
Mr. and Mrs. Renfroe,

Find attached Lady's 13th birthday picture.  She is doing just great - her face (like my whiskers!) is getting more and more white.  She had a major surgery during this past year to remove a cancerous growth and has recovered fully!

Hope and trust you are doing well.

Blessings,
Dave

Lady's name is Carolyn.

Eli

Eli lives in Connecticut with the Larson family.  He is seven years old.  His sire is Ole Max and his Dam's name is Sandy.  Sandy was owned by the Ellingson's down past Little Rock near the White River.  Sandy's pedigree went back to our Feists.  Al sent a photo of Eli taken at Christmas.  He is a beauty and always reminds me of Belle Starr.  Looks like he is waiting patiently by the tree for Santa to bring his gifts because we know he has been very good!

Bennie To a New Home

Charlie Strong came today to Little Rock with his sweet granddaughter and we met them and sent Bennie to a new home.
We loved Bennie but felt he would be happier where he could be top dog and be able to run and hunt.  Here we had to keep him in a pen.

Charlie had bought a Feist from us earlier and that Feist had passed away.  I think the pup he got was one of the ones below.  He said his pup made a great squirrel dog and we have high hopes Bennie will also.  His first pup was out of Jr. Green's Shammy and Radio Flyer.

Red Club From LSU

This little red Cub has a woods mulching mower.  It can rip the grass to pieces like it did at LSU in the past.
