Al Larson lives in Connecticut. He has one of our Feist dogs, Eli. I got these photos from his Facebook page. The upper photo is of Al rabbit hunting in Maine. Lots of snow up there, Al.
We live 2 miles from the Interstate. A convict stabbed a trooper and jumped from his car. We looked over at Laura's house this afternoon and 3 police cars were in her drive. She called giving us a report and saying they wanted permission to cross the Meadow to search around Galla Lake. He is around here somewhere they said. Nope, they did not find him. Glad we have these Feists to tell us when an intruder ventures near. Excitement exits down Meadow Drive!
I recognize a Kubota tractor in this photo. Lee lives in Mississippi and they have a bunch of squirrels in his woods...well there are several hundred less because of Lee and his Feist dogs treeing and shooting them!
Lee Moore is getting his sister hooked on squirrel hunting. Here he is with 3 Galla Creek Feists, Sadie Belle, Scout, and his new male pup from our Kennel. Thanks, Lee for sharing the photo with us.
Elliot brought my old friend to see me. Sparky is a littermate to Spud. We named that litter after country singers. Spud is Vern Gosdin and Sparky, Mother Mabell Carter! One male was named George Jones. I remember there was at least one more female. Sparky has a great home and Elliot says they will be together until the end. Nothing pleases me more than to see one of my dogs again. Sparky was treeing with Spud when she was 6 months old. She is a special Feist.
Zack sent a new photo of Buster! Wow, he is doing great. Thanks for sharing the hunt with us! Buster is out of Bonnie Sue Parker and O' Tie that binds. Here is Zack's email:
He's really turning on here lately. We treed and killed four this morning. I hated to leave he was doing so good but it started pouring down rain. He treed these four in about thirty minutes Very proud of his progress. Zack Kraft
Hunter Scroggins sent us a picture of his recent squirrel hunt with Pris and Galla Creek Dan. Pris is the mother of Ole Dan who sired the litter of pups with Lia. Galla Creek Dan is the pup Hunter kept from the litter is what I think. Thanks so much for sharing with us, Hunter...here's his email.
Dear Renfroe's Hunter Scoggins and friends hunting on a windy day near Chester, Texas. Dogs are Mountain View Pris and Galla creek Dan.
I guess if I had to have a 'vine' for the dogs in my present Kennel. Spook is the vine. Opal, Spud, Lia, Dobs, Tie, Viper, Cor A Vett, Patch, Sassy--they are branches. My Kennel is putting on growth each season. The young Feist below is Dan--named for his sire, who you see pictured below him. The first video is his great grandmother and the second is of his mother, Lia. Good fruit comes from a good vine. Hope that makes sense to you as it does to me! Dan is not a year old and look what he is doing! Here is the email message I received from Tony Marshall with his photo.
Betty and Larry hope you are both well, Dan and I had a really good hunt this morning. He treed 7 times and we got six. One got in a hole. Our best hunt yet. His best treeing hunt overall too. Dan's biggest problem is not wanting to range out from me very far. He also comes back to me to often I think. A couple of trees today were far enough away I could not see him through the timber, but most of the time he stays well under 100 yards from me. I am really proud of the way he is progressing so far.
I took Spook (Bandit) with Tie today. She still treed like a young pup. But she is 10 years old. I take care of my dogs so she does not look 10. She ran the tree some. I don't like that and she did not used to do it, but I just let it slide. She sure was glad to be in the woods.
Adam Patterson sent pictures of a Baby Face Nelson hunt. I still miss Nelson. I kept him until he was past two years old. He was a really great squirrel dog out of Max and Spook. I know Adam enjoys hunting him.
Matt Parker sent another picture as Dan had another good hunt at Wattensaw Refuge! Keep those pictures coming Matt as we love to see them. Dan is the sire of pups from Lia last year.
Troy Vance sent a picture of Jack after a hunt . Troy's environment it like ours, a 4 to 6 squirrel total is a good hunt. Now, down where Lee Moore lives, they get 20 to 40 each time out. I can only imagine the thrill. Jack is out of Spook and Shooter. Thanks, for sharing, Troy.
