Jack
Jack is treeing here in the Meadow with Spud and Bonnie Sue Parker. I am anxious for cool weather to get here and try him in the big woods by himself. He will be for sale, but I have a waiting list of folks wanting him.

Carver
This is Tie's grandfather, G. W. Carver. He is the father of Dobs and Rosco. Carver came from Peanut Beaty to Arkansas and we got him from the guy who bought him from Peanut. He was a great squirrel dog. We sold him to a man in Mississippi after raising several litters of pups from him. He had a brindle look to his coat and would throw red brindle and dark brindle pups on occasion. Tie does too! We called Carver, "Peanut". Peanut Beaty has passed away.

Too Hot For A Hot Dog
Roger Littlejohn sent this snapshot of Ol' Number Seven and Smarty (golden on the right) after he took them to the woods for a short hunt. Needless to say they were HOT dogs. Smarty is a grandson of Spook and Max and Seven is from Jack Buckley's Kennel in Kentucky!
The normal body temperature for a dog falls within the range of 100.5°F to 102.5°F (about 38°C to 39.2°C).

Deep Seas
Heath Thomas of Baton Rogue, LA sent these two photos from the rig he works on. Aren't they beautiful. Zoey (out of Dobs and Shooter) is Heath's pup. He is anxious to get home to work with her and promises to send us a picture of her! Thanks, Heath and stay safe on that rig. Here's Heath's email message to us:
Here are two cool pictures one of the guys I work with took off the rig. Three water spouts at one time and then a sunset, the drillship I work on is the Discoverer Deep Seas 834 foot long 125 foot wide. We see some beautiful sights off the rig. Coming home this Friday and me and Zoey are going to do some squirrel training. I will send some more pics of me working with her in a week or two, I cant wait.

Bonnie Sue Parker
This Fox Squirrel came to the bird feeders, but Bonnie Sue parked herself under the tree for an entire day. Here the little squirrel is finally begging Bonnie to just let her down. The tree is isolated and to get away Foxy has to hit the ground. Bonnie is biding her time. Who will get thirsty first?
I have 4 deposits on pups from Bonnie Sue. I have breeding fee pups coming from Larry Ellingson, but I don't think I will have anymore litters after Bonnie this year. Pups are a lot of work and responsibility. I plan to hunt this fall. Tie is rearing to go.

Blihovde's Jack and Jill
Bruce sent a look at the two pups he kept out of his litter out of Lucy and Buster. Buster is a son of Shooter and Pepper (Pepper is out of Old Rowdy). Lucy is out of a daughter of Pepper and Dale. Dale is out of Old Rowdy. Since Lucy and Buster go back to the Old Rowdy line these two pups are line bred to that line. Shooter would be the out cross of the mix. I like an little out cross in the breeding of lines. I think it actually produces better pups. Like throwing a little spice in the recipe! Below is Bruce's email and you can tell he is excited about Jack and Jill this season.
Bruce says''--These pups are twelve weeks old now and I decided to introduce them to a squirrel. I put it in the freezer and I'll let them chew on it again later. Don't want to overdo it. |

Homegrown Tomaters
Homegrown tomaters, homegrown tomaters
What'd life be without homegrown tomaters
There's only two things that money can't buy
That's true love and homegrown tomaters.
When I die don't bury me
In a box in a cold dark cemetery
Out in the garden would be much better
Where I'd be pushin' up homegrown tomaters!

Bird of Yesterday
I zoomed in on this bird that has been coming to my feeders this week. I knew he was here but now he is coming by to say 'howdy' every evening. I love to hear him call 'bob white'. When I was a kid the quail were everywhere. Now there are only a few around. I am glad I have a little flock here in the Meadow!

MisterWilkes Pups Here
Mister is out of Spud and lives with the Calvert's in Alabama. Here is their email and by the way we named Mister's litter after characters in Gone with the Wind!
Mister Wilkes (Galla Creek Vern Gosdin x Galla Creek Jimmie Sue) is a father. The mother of the pups is Snowflake, another registered feist (sire is Kirkland's Banjo). There are seven pups, three females and four males, born June 28. They are all good looking pups, healthy and quite active--ready to get on the tree. Two females are spoken for. The other pups are available for sale.
Some of these pups are available. Thank you Galla Creek! We live 30 miles north of Birmingham, Alabama

Bonnie Sue Parker ~ Tie
Bonnie Sue Parker and Tie will have pups in about 2 months. Breeding took place July 2 and 4th. With Spook Tie had an array of colored up pups. I hope that trend will show in Bonnie's litter too. Bonnie is so smart, smarter than most humans I know. She is full sister to Spud. Tie is out of Dobs and Shooter. Dobs is Bonnie's half sister. I am anxious to see how this turns out. Hopefully there will be a pup for me. I have 4 deposits and don't want anymore on this litter.
