Our friend Matt Howell fished the Kings River in Carroll
County, AR this weekend. This is a small mouth bass and
a nice one!

Beautiful Small Mouth Matt
I love to catch the small mouth better than any other bass. The lake near my house where I do most of my fishin is the #1 small mouth lake in the state. Lake Blue Ridge
My son and I fish it hard in the winter and we catch some nice ones.
But I love to wade the river and catch them too.

Larry, don't we cull bass that size unless we use them for bait on a catfish noodle?

Wayne, I really enjoy wading the rivers and fishing for them, this is only my 2nd time to go in the last 4 years. Me and my friend caught about 50 smallmouths and 30 bream on ther trip. We also caught two 2 pounders on the trip. It was really fun.

Sounds like yall did have a good tirp. 50 smallmouth is a very good day any where.
If you were to ever get a notion to come to GA and try your luck I would love to have you come and go with us.
November-December is the best time but it cuts into a mans hunting time. But like Larry says there is more to life than hunting and the only thing I know that is better is fishin.

I would like to go some time! I just don't know when I could make that kind of trip. How far are you from Russellville?

Wayne, did I mention I caught that smallmouth on an ultra-light rig!
It took me 5-10 minutes to get him in, it was a challenge.
