Most dogs will stay treed for 30 minutes, an hour, and maybe even more. My Cora is treed day 2, yes this is the second day of her keeping the squirrel in the tree. I went to bed last night and figured the squirrel would come down the tree and get away. This morning Cora had it treed up a tree near the one the squirrel was in last night. So she is on day 2 of this tree. I am not going to kill the squirrel as I don't get many here in the yard. But also I am not going to put her up so the squirrel can get away. I was gone most of today so tomorrow I will see if Cora still has the squirrel up the tree. Once Ole Belle kept a cat treed for days on Galla Creek. I finally put her up but the cat was so weak it could not climb down. He just laid there. I shook the tree with the tractor so he would fall to the ground and run away.
Cora says, "I will just stay right here and see what you do Mr. Squirrel!

Cora--Yard Treeing
Rare thing happened to day. A squirrel made it's way to our yard. Cora treed it for hours, but finally settled down under the tree to wait him out. After about 4 hours, he came down and tried to make a run for it...but only made it a short ways and had to climb about tree as Cora almost caught him on the ground. So now the wait is on again. She is resting patiently under the tree hoping to get another chance to nab him!

Roxy's Guarding the Porch
Zach Kraft sent this picture of our gorgeous Feist, Roxy. She is beautiful like her sire, Spud!
Zach's email--Wanted to send you a picture of roxy. She's guarding the back porch. We've just been playing scent games and learning to speak since squirrel season ended

What Falls From a Tree?
Shannon and Laine Hilliard own Jag--a Galla Feist. Now they own their own squirrel. Peanut fell out of tree when he was just a babe and Laine took him in as a family pet. He sleeps in the boot pictured above.
Here is Shannon's email:
Mr. Peanut and Laine. A bottle fed squirrel. He feel out of tree. Suffered a nose bleed and headache. Sleeps in my roper boots.

Hagan and Maggie
The Malones sent new photos of Hagan and Maggie. We are glad to see them again. Sure appreciate the pictures our friends send! Here is the email that came with the pictures!
Renfroes--Love having Maggie & Hagen in the family. They talk Stewart into walks in the woods but don't understand why they have to leave the squirrels in the trees. They are both coming along great. Hagen & Maggie had both been on the tree until I snapped the picture. Maggie went to check the other tree and came back later. Maggie is such a ham she always poses for the pictures. The Malones
