Roger Littlejohn shared this photo of Mr. Copperhead. Most Feists want to kill them, but often get bitten trying. The bite is not usually fatal, but the dog will swell and feel badly for a few days. Belle Starr has been bitten many times. When she sees a Copperhead, I try to get her away from it and kill it myself. She grabs and slings to destroy. I am afraid she will sling him my way. From now until cool weather in Arkansas the Copperheads are seen in the late evening. They will just lay still and wait for you to step on them and then bite you. Thanks, Roger for sharing.
