These pictures were from Betty's home place. We still own a few acres of the farm! These squirrels were after the black walnuts Betty's sister had picked up and stored in a gunny sack.

Viper Sniper
Viper treed a red squirrel on her zip line. I was afraid that she would hang herself or die of a heat stroke. Last time he came here to the Meadow I tied the dogs up so he could escape, but he returned again, one time too many.

Hagar Remembered
Marc Rutland emailed today thay he had lost his beloved Feist, Galla Creek Hagar. Hagar was so small when she was born that we did not bob her tail. She had a wonderful life and a great home with the Rutlands. She will be remembered and missed.
Here is Marc's message about what happened:
My wife called me crying. And told me that Hagar my best little hunting buddy got hit this morning. She said they were sitting on the porch when she steps in for a cup of coffee and stepped back out side and there she was out in the road.
We had a lot of fun together. She would go fishing with me. Riding four wheelers with me. She kept my feet warm at night because that was her favorite place to sleep. But when I told her let's go hunting she was another animal all together. She would absolutely go get treed.
I showed her to a man one time who to me is wealthy. After he saw her hunt he said name your price. I said sir she's not for sale. He says son I don't think you understand what I'm saying here you just name your price. I then had to tell him sir I don't think you understand SHE AINT FOR SALE.

I'm not ashamed to say it I cried like a baby. Because friends like her don't come around very often.
This is good bye to my sweet Baby Girl Hagar.

Cora Treed
Cora spent the day treed in the Meadow. I felt for her but so few squirrels venture into the Meadow that I did not have heart to shoot the gray squirrel.

Cora
Here Cora is smelling the flowers this morning. Betty walked to the mail box and she treed a gray squirrel on Crow Mountain across the road in the woods. She sure looked good on the tree. Cora is a little spoiled. She only stays in a kennel when she is in season. Otherwise, she is free to do as she wishes. Today I noticed she was irritating all the Feists on the zip lines just like a spoiled brat! Oh, well, I spoiled her. It was like "ha, ha I can do whatever I want because I am special".

Gardening Today
We worked all day in the garden. Putting what we have planted because sometimes we forget what is in each row.
Tomatoes and Peppers in first two rows where you see the black.
Then two rows of Candy Corn.
Then two rows of Clemson Spinless Okra.
Then a row of Squash and cucumbers.
Then two rows of improved Pintos.
Then a row of Kentucky Wonder Pole beans.
Then one row of Potatoes.
Row of onions and cabbage.
Row of green peas.
Planted 4 rows of G 90 corn in the back garden.
Too pooped to set out these and will do it tomorrow. Bought Bell Pepper. Green Chili peppers and
Salsa peppers. We got Rutgers, Early Girl, Big Beef, and I forget what else in the tomatoes. No cherry tomatoes as I got too tired picking them.

Tie Treed
Tie treed on his zip line. Varmit up the big Black Gum but he had his eye on it. Barked until I came to help.
