Mail Call
We received the above thank you note from the Hendersons of Hunt, Texas who own two of our Feists. They raised a litter of pups from the two and we put a little ad on here to help them find good hunting homes for the pups pictured below. All the pups have new owners now and we are so happy. Also, thank you to the Hendersons for going to the trouble to send us the note. They don't really do a lot with computers and their son sent the email to us. So glad it all worked out and YOU are welcome, Gwen and Buddy

Zack Kraft's Roxy
Zack Kraft sent pictures of Roxy and a pup out of Buster and Sadie (Lee Moore) that his brother owns. They call the male Feist, Rowdy. He has blue eyes which we have occasionally in our litters. Buster is a littermate to our sweet Cora. I was thinking that Roxy is a littermate to Macie but that is not correct. Roxy's mother is owned by Larry Ellingson and Macie's mother is Sugar. But Sugar and Roxy's Mother are related. It is hard to keep the ancestors of the Feists straight as we have owned a bunch of Feists. We have been raising Feists to sell for 25 years and always owned one most of our lives! Here is the email from Zack about the two Galla Feists. Thanks, Zack, the message was very uplifting to us!
Dear Renfroes:
This is my Roxy at about nine months and I think she looks a lot like sissy. Spook is in her line too. She has Otis X 2, Kloss Lady X2, Gaucho, Dummy, McAndrews Martin,Sandy and Bell Starr.
Buster has Spook X 2, Spud, Dummy, Martin, Otis, Max, Shooter, Dobs, Tie, and Bonnie Sue. I think I have a good chance of producing some great dogs. Buster is laid back, intelligent, a great handling dog,and when he barks its there. If you can show him what you want he's trained, that easy. She is wide open when she hits the woods. No problem getting this one to bark, she covers a lot of ground and fast. Natural road hunter and a pleasure to watch. Runs with her nose in the air and there's no doubt when scent hits it, she bounces like a deer all over the woods. I'm anxious to see what this year will bring. She knows what "here" and sit means(she hates to sit but she will) and the rest is in the breeding. Never shown her anything in the woods. She circles, checks in, and hunts wide open til I put her back in the kennel.
I'll send you some more action videos this fall. Thanks for my dogs
Zack

Old Pea Picker--Troy Vance!
Troy sent this photo of the peas he gathered out of his patch. The deer laid waste to ours and we could not water them. What I like best about Troy's photo is the peas sheller. He said it belonged to his father. Probably cost about $200.00, but it makes the peas shelling an easy endeavor! If I could grow the peas, I sure would want one! I am wondering if Troy or Sherry picked these or was it a family affair! Troy and Sherry live in Hawkins, TX! They own several great Feist dogs!

Varmints on the Prowl
First yesterday evening, Slick Willie kept barking and I went back to his big pen to find him baying a armadillo and I took care of it. Then Spud alerted me to a big rabbit in the green beans. Lastly, about midnight Cora started raising cane at the tree where Betty has her sunflower and corn feeder. She had a huge sow coon treed. These two below are now orphans! I sure wish Troy Vance had kept those nasty armadillos in Texas!

Galla Creek Spook's Image
We are calling her Sissy but her paper name is Spook's Image. Spook is her Grandmother on both sides. She is full of spit and vinegar. Drives Cora crazy, but Sissy just ignores Cora when she growls at her and comes back to bug Cora again! We think she is going to be a 'great' one. We always look forward to squirrel season with a new pup. Sissy can already find a treat that has been tossed into the grass when she is not looking. She reminds us of the female Zack Kraft got from us out of Spud! What do you think, Zack?

Weed Seed
We did not destroy the baby coon and certainly could not harm these two as they moved near the water of the pond for a drink on a hot July day. But I remember the story about Saul in the Bible and I knew that these would be back to try and take over my fields.
1 Samuel 15:3
Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

Basket Full
We wormed the Dobs ~ Spud pups yesterday. Looks like there are only 8 but one is almost covered up. They are doing great. Two males are available. The white on on the right with black spots. The other male is mainly black but has an almost white head. The pups are $350.00 and we require a $50.00 dep. to hold a pup.
Jerry Dean came by with a cap for us and said Baton was doing great. We are proud of the cap. Thanks, Jerry! I will take a photo for an Ad on here. Jerry has a black powder comapny.

Dobs ~ Spud Pups
We still have two male pups from the litter born July 3. Our pups are $350 and we require a $50 deposit to hold a pup. We wormed the 9 pups today and they are all doing great. We put ice buckets in the kennel each day about noon and they huddle around it to stay cool. Our pups are never on soil until they have a puppy shot. All the serious viruses come from the earth and can live there for 50 years! We keep our pups off the ground until they are weaned and we give them a puppy shot. We believe pups need a immunization shot at 6, 9, 12 and 16 weeks. At 16 weeks they need a 7 way shot. Then each year the dogs need a booster.
We are not rich folks, but we feel if we are going to have Feists we must care for them. We sure try to raise healthy Feists. We have not named this litter. Hard to come up with a theme with 9 of them to tag a name on. Dobs is holding her own feeding this big bunch! Their eyes are open and they are moving around some.

Raw Deal--Multiple Myeloma Doubled
I ordered this shirt from Larry McDowell. I ordered it for Betty as I knew he would not have one to fit me (I am 6' 9 1/2" and not small). Betty loves the shirt. Her nephew has the same disease and a friend she worked with had it and did not survive.
Anyhow, Larry's sister had Multiple Myeloma and lost her battle. He was shocked to learn he had it, also. And now is undergoing treatment. The shirt is 20 bucks and the money goes to help Larry with all his medical bills. Here is his address:
Larry McDowell
408000 Pine Grove Road
Bay Minette, AL 36507
Here is a link to his page telling about the shirt. Betty loves hers and she will wear it proudly

Opal / Spud Pups All Gone
to their new homes. Our little Dash is lonesome here. Brian Spain came yesterday and got his pup. We called his pup, Marathon. She was our pick but Dash was Siggie's pick so we have Siggie's pick. In about a year we will see how well Sigrid can choose a pup. We named our pup, Spook's Image, but will just call her Dash as that is what Sigrid calls her.

One Female Left From Dob / Spud Litter
This afternoon when Sigrid and I took these photos we had 2 females available from the Spud Dobs litter. Only three of the litter were females. The above photo is the one Billy Floyd picked. Not much difference in the two black pups with white trim. But Billy and Sandy chose the one above and she has less white on her neck. I posted a photo from the last photo shoot below where they are together and you can see the difference. The white pup with the patch over her eye was taken this afternoon by Dave Allee of Texas. So the black female with the wider white neck is the only female remaining. We have two males left and I will post those tomorrow.
These pups were born July 3 and will be ready about Aug. 15. Our pups are $350 and we ask a $50 dollar deposit to hold a pup. When folks make a deposit for a future pup we hold the deposit but don't cash it; however, when the pups are here, we ask for a deposit and we do cash if. If the buyer decided they don't want their pup, they lose the deposit.
I am still trying to think of a theme to name these by. Still pondering baseball players!

Making It New Again
I have started restoring another Cub. It is a 1976. I am the third owner. The guy that had it before me passed away and his wife sold his Cub to me. I plan to keep this Cub and will show you how my work is progressing.
