Will Regret Letting These Two Go

Yesterday these two baby coons were having breakfast in our wild Cherry tree. Betty watched them and filmed them for almost half an hour. They will probably be in the corn, killing the chickens and no telling what else.

Troy Vance's Feist Guarding His Corn

Troy Vance sent us a picture of Zip, Cork and Jack attacking an old coon that was invading his corn field.  Afterwards, they were bushed and rested on the mule hoping for a ride back to the house.

Digging Potatoes!

Dug the potaoes today.  We had already harvested about a dozen hills and had a few that were in the ground too long, but we will enjoy what we dug.   We had some cooked with the jackets on and steak for supper. Pretty tasty!

Sigrid's Help

We took this yesterday, but Sigrid came again today and socialized the pups.  They come running to the door when they see her and cry when she puts them back in their kennel.

Puppy Care

We believe we have a responsibility to give our Feists good care.  This goes double for pups.  In the heat they have to have a cool place.  Their home MUST be kept free of fleas and ticks.  We worm the pups at 2 weeks and then 4 weeks, etc.  We wormed the pups today.  We use prescription Drontal wormer.  This litter is a month old tomorrow.  We build insulated whelping houses and then put a frozen two gallon container of ice in the house to cool.  If the temp gets over 100, the ice must be replaced at least once during the day.  If the pups are not in off the ground kennels, the mother and pups can not be kept free of worms!  This litter will be weaned in 2 weeks.  They are healthy and friendly!
