Zoey Pups

Heath Thomas sent photos of Zoey and Zeke's pups.  All beautiful. Heath lives near Baton Rogue, LA.
Here is what he has to say--

Here are a few pics of Zoey's puppies. These three are males and I have one female. Already had one guy wanting the female. The puppies are doing great. Hope all is going well in Arkansas.

Squirrel In A Hole

You should always carry a lead to the tree in case the squirrel goes in a hollow place.  Had to carry my little dog back to the road--when the scent is strong most Feists don't want to hear "in a hole" and just walk away.

Squirrel Hunters

These hunters sit on a high perch all day.  Their eyes are like powerful binoculars and when anything moves below they swoop down and kill it.  They hunt field mice, rabbits, squirrels, and if I did not have a top on my chicken pen they would kill every bird I have.

Full Moon

A few nights ago we had a full moon.  All the Feists barked and barked.  Spud and Viper broke their zip lines and  chased monsters all night.  They were tired the next day and I was too. I got all the zip lines fixed but don't look forward to the next full moon.

Sun Roof

Sun came out today.  Macie took advantage of it by snoozing on the roof of her dog house.

Shamrock

Junior and Vickie Green have one of our Feist's--Shamrock!  She is out of Pepper and Max.  Shammy is a half sister to Spud.  She was born on St. Patrick's Day, 2004.  So next March Shammy will be 10 years old.
She is a great squirrel dog and Junior has shared lots of pictures of tail gates full of game she treed.  Junior thanks for the picture.  Below is the litter she was a part of on Galla Creek.

My Little Squirrel Hunting Buddy

My little squirrel hunting buddy is growing up.  Above picture is 10 years ago with a litter of pups.  She rocked them all to sleep for a nap.  Below you can see she is a beautiful girl growing up too fast.

Smorgasbord

First we had ice rain, then sleet, and then heavy snow.  Now, we are experiencing bitter cold.  Winter is not even here yet.   Betty cooked a turkey today.  We gave each of our Feist some and an extra helping of their food.  Carried a hammer and broke the ice on their water buckets.  Hurry spring, hurry!

Cold Rain

Northern Arkansas got ice and snow all day.  We were lucky to only have cold rain, but tonight may turn us into an ice castle.  Hope you are having sunshine.  We put out extra food for the little birds and gave all our Feists a little extra chow.  All our dogs have a nice warm house filled with hay.  His eye is on the Sparrow but I know he watches over me.

Eli

Al Larson up in Connecticut sent us a picture of Eli in the woods.  Eli is Viper's uncle.  Al said they had a few more squirrels this year.  Last time out he and Eli got 3!  Thanks for the picture, Al.
