Sigrid Says Pop Can't Count!~

Sigrid came over yesterday and helped take the stitches from the pup tails. She counted the boys and girls and found there are 3 males and 4 females. Pop had said 2 and 5. The little male in the top photo is her favorite she said. We kept them inside about an hour and they were perfectly happy, not even whimpering for their mother. We think they enjoyed the cooler temperature of the house. These are Opal/Tie pups and some are still available. Price $350.00

Sarge Looking For Sigrid

Sigrid came over today and worked and played with Sarge and Layla. She sure misses Mollie. When she had to run inside, Sarge watched to see where she had gone. Finally, Sarge just howled in sadness wanting her to return!

Moll To Mississippi

Dennis Goins came by on his way to Missouri and picked up Mollie. We will miss her. Sigrid was here to oversee the deal. Dennis has a Feist from another Kennel. Sure hope Moll turns out to be a good one for him. Dennis' main residence is in Waterford, Mississippi, he has a place in south Missouri too. He has 1100 acres where Mollie can hunt squirrels.

Our dog trainer, Sigrid, will be home from Captivia Island Monday. Sarge will be glad and also Moll if she is still here. We are keeping a male and female for fall training. Siggie likes Layla so we are selling Moll. Someone is supposed to come Monday for her. If they don't she is for sale. Her mother is a female feist out of Opal and Shooter and her father is Tie. She was born the last day of Feb. so she is 4 month old. She has had all her shots, etc. Price $400.00

Sambo

Sam is out of a daughter of Opal and Shooter and Tie. The Stewart Malone family own Sammy. They are getting a pup from Opal and Tie (female) so he will have a partner. They already own one Feist. You can see her in the picture. She actually caught this squirrel on the ground as it ventured into her territory. She shared her catch with Sam. Angela Malone sent us these pictures and we are glad to see Sam. He is really gorgeous! We have his sister, Mollie!

Here is the Malone's email to us:
Larry & Betty

These are some older pictures my niece took of Sammy and forwarded to me so I could share with you. Sammy's coloring does not show up well in these because he is actually more buttermilk colored than when we picked him up. I will send newer pictures soon. (Waiting on tech support).

The larger dog is our Frankie. Frankie actually caught this squirrel sneaking across the yard and was willing to share with his little friend. The Malones

Richland Creek, AR

Yesterday we went to Richland Creek. Richland Creek flows north into the Buffalo River. It is a beautiful area. The road there has been blocked by a rock, tree slide for over two years. Just recently the Forest Service fixed the block.

I used to squirrel hunt along this Creek, but the road is poor now and will almost knock you out of your truck by holes and rub broading. I hunt more south of me now as the roads are lots better.

Opal ~/~ Tie Pups at a Week old!

Yes, some of the pups are still available!
Our Opal pups are ONE week old and man, have they changed. They are growing like my watermelons are! The top picture I captured all 7 and the one the one below I got 6 of them in the picture. I think there are 2 males and 5 females, but I have hardly handled them and could be one off on the males.

The pups had dew claws and and tails docked yesterday. Some are available if you are interested. $350.00 is the price of my pups.

Deer Scare

Betty thinks this might scare some deer away...I doubt it. A rifle is about all that will work.

Pheonix Squirrel Dog--Layla!

Layla meets the boss of Galla Creek Mountain Feist Squirrel Dog Kennel!
We traveled to Dumas, AR and met Lee Moore to get our breeding fee pup. She is out of Tie and Sadie Bell. Tie is out of Dobs and Shooter; Sadie is from Spud and Opal. Spud, Opal and Dobs are all pups of Spook with each having a different sire!

Sigrid named the buttermilk Mountain Feist Pup--Layla Limbleaner! Hope she bends some limbs over when she matures. She is laid back and a real mouthy pup.
Above is Lee and myself and below Lee's friend Jimmy is in the photo. Jimmy has some outstanding squirrel dogs.
Lee Moore calls his Kennel--Phoenix Squirrel Dogs! He has a sign on his truck to prove it.

Frog Giggin!

If you have never been 'frog hunting', you have missed out on a lot of fun. You can go in a small boat or just along a bank. Need a flashlight and quick hands. These photos are shared by Rev. Rutland. Photo above is of Lane with one of the catch and below Dylan shows one. Pictures are hazy because it is pitch dark. Rev. said Hagar went along on the adventure, but Ish 'Teddy" stayed at home with Mom, Torrie. Collin may not have went alone either!

The best part of frog hunting is the frying up of the catch. The legs will jump a little in the iron skillet, but it is the tastiest meal you can imagine.

Thanks for sharing with us Rev. Below is Hagar and Ish hanging out. Sorry, I could not get the picture to turn...just turn you head and look. You know I am hillbilly and lucky just to get this posted.
