Larry Ellingson's New Litter of Pups

Larry Ellingson sent a picture of his new litter of Mountain Feist pups from Bell and Bill. They have just born and really pretty. Here is Larry's email telling about the parents. Both parents have links to our Kennel.

Miss Betty&Larry, Thought I would send you a picture of the newest additions to Two Rivers Kennel. I bred the best two dogs that I have together. Wild Bill (Slick&Sandy) is the sire and Bell(Max&Sandy) is the dam. I have two males&three females. I have great expectations for these pups. We killed 192 squirrels over Bill&Bell walk hunting last winter!

ZacK and Zoey

Heath Thomas (LA) sent us pictures of Zack (Lia and Ole Dan) and Zoey (Dobs and Shooter). We called Zack Floyd. Heath said Zoey was treeing and doing great and he bought Zack so he could have a pair and maybe even raise a litter of pups when Zack got about 2 years old. Zack is lemon with white trim and Zoey is white with lemon trim.

Heath brought us the mess of Catfish when he came up to get Floyd (Zack). Thanks, Heath, for sharing the pictures. We love to get them. Heath works off shore and is in the Gulf for 3 weeks and then home 3 weeks. We sure enjoy meeting all the nice folks like Heath who love to squirrel hunt!

Dan

Tony sent an update and photos of Dan. Thanks, so much for sharing his progress with us. Dan is out of Lia and Parker's Ole Dan! The sire, Dan, goes back to Rowdy and other dogs from our Kennel. Lia is from Nell and Floyd.

Here's Tony's update:
Dear Larry and Betty,
Hi, I thought I would send you an update and pictures of Dan. I took him for his second shot last week. He weighed 6.2 pounds. He is really growing fast. He stays indoors so the extreme heat we have had lately has not stressed him. We do spent a lot of time outside when I am home. He goes out some in the morning, noon, then for quite a while in the evening. He really uses his nose and smells everything. The squirrels around the house are pretty wild so he has not got to chase any yet, but he has trailed them to the tree they climbed. He is getting much more adventurous lately exploring everything he can. He can bark on command and is a fast learner.

Clayton Is Staying All Night

I asked Clayton if he wanted to stay with me and lo and behold he said 'yes'. But the catch was we had to go shop at Wal Mart! He picked a space shuttle! Hope we make it through the night!

Feists Are Guarding My Meadow

I have Tie, Lia, and CC Rider on Zip Lines. I think they will keep guard here and let me know when I have an intruder. Tie let me know this morning that this turtle was heading for my pond. I am hoping they will also run the deer out of my Meadow! I think they will. I will probably add more Zip Lines by next garden season.

What's This?

Jeremy Yates called giving an update on Zach Taylor. Zach is already barking on command and has chased a squirrel in the yard. Sounds like Jeremy has his little Feist starting out toward a good future. I love to hear about the pups when they leave Galla Creek. Keep me posted as I really want to know. Having my pups succeed is what I want most. Calls like Jeremy's just make my day!

Dutch Goes Home

The Ronnie Abels family came to take Dutch home today. Sean and Carla Abels took turns holding him which Dutch thought was great! Momma Abels was a little worried about the return 4 to 5 hour drive and the argument over whose turn it was to hold Dutch. Big Sister said she could solve the problem--she would hold him! I am sure Dutch wants to sit in a lap and not in a crate! One good thing about Galla Feists is most do not get car sick and love the ride!

Ronnie promised us pictures and we are sure hoping he does not forget. Ronnie owns Tiger that he got from my cousin, Rick and a Feist at goes back to my Kennel on one side. He also has a small yellow Cur pup which Carla claims as hers. I guess Sean will claim Dutch.

Cherry Tree Limb on Kennel Fence

Last week this big limb from a Cherry tree fell on on of my Kennel fences. Luckily no dogs were injured, but I will have a big job when the weather cools. I will have to clear the debris and put a new top rail on the chain link fence. I think the limb broke because it was so dry.

Viper Treed

Through June, Spud ran out. Last week I turned Viper out. She was treed on the Cherry Tree several mornings. Here she has something up an Ash tree. Now it is CoraVette's turn to run out a while.

Galla Creek Nell

This little lemon and white female, Nell, is out of Lia and Ol' Dan. She is the only pup that I have left from my two litters. Ronnie Abels spoke for Dutch.

Nell is rambunctious and really investigative and busy. She needs a hunting home. Call me if you want to know more about her. She is ready now. 479 890 8090.

Galla Creek Dutch Reagan

This is Dutch Reagan out of Opal and Tie. I have saved him for Ronnie Abels of LA and if he does not claim him...Dutch will be for sale. I have a female left from Lia and Ole Dan for sale. She is lemon and white and we named her Nell.

Slick Willie

Joey McLeland brought the boys down to get Slick Willie. Can't wait until we can get Willie hammering on the squirrels. D. J. is ready to shoot them. Trevor likes Willie too. Maybe in a year or so he will want his own Feist!

Floyd's Gone South

Heath Thomas and his daughter Rayna drove 8 hours to get here to get Pretty Boy Floyd--out of Lia and Ole Dan. Floyd is named for his Grandfather, Lia's sire. Heath and Rayna brought us a mess of fingerling Catfish that Heath and his Dad caught on Catawba worms in the Pearl River! We are having them for supper tonight.

Heath, hope you made it home fine. Hope Zoey is proud of her new partner! And...thanks a million for the super supper!

Vern Gosdin leads the Choir!

Spud sings lead at the Old Cherry Tree while Viper, CoraVette and Bonnie Sue Parker croon the harmony! I really enjoyed the Feists' singing this morning!

Galla Creek C C Rider

Cedar is here on Galla Creek. We plan to call him C C Rider. Can't wait to see if he is as good as he is supposed to be. C is out of Shooter and Pepper, a daughter of Ol' Rowdy.

Pris, Madison, and Honest Abe

Scott Dees and his sons Zach and Cody Mack plus his daughter Logan came today to pick up three Galla Feists for his family and their friends. Jennifer Dees co piloted the trip. It was a joy to meet the Dees family. Can't wait to see how Pris, Honest Abe and Dolly Madison turn out. The Dees family promised pictures and we are holding them to their promise! Thanks to the Dees family from Galla Creek!

Three Galla Feists have gone south to 'Bama!
Cody Mack Dees picks his Feist pup. The female that looks like Opal is his! Her name is Madison!
Cody Mack's big brother Zach helps little brother hold Honest Abe. Abe is going to the Robert Clark family--they already have an awesome squirrel dog from Galla Creek--Hazel--out of Carolina Crossfire and Spud!

Zach is holding Madison and his sister Logan is holding, Pris. Pris is going to co-worker of Scott Dees, Patrick James.

Allis

Allis has been around and had several owners--but she is back where she was born. Rev. James Lybrand is going to start driving a big semi and he needed a place for Allis. She is out of Dobs and Shooter and she is right back where she started from. She is a littermate to Tie, McCormack, and J. I. Case. James said she was a great little squirrel dog. He said the best thing about her is when you shoot the squirrel off in a ravine she will bring it right to your truck.
