Everybody Has Roots

Recently I visited by Great Grandfather's resting place. He loved Feist dogs...so I guess it is in my roots!

Don't Tread On Me

Spook and Tie are in the same pen. A Rat snake found his way into their domain. He planned to just pass through, but Spook grabbed the tail and Tie the head and ripped him into two pieces and did a destroy act on him. Sure was fun to watch but with all the shaking and slinging I just wanted to get out of the way!

Galla Creek Floyd and Ole Dan

Dan and Floyd are from the Lia and Ole Dan litter. We named the litter after ancestors. Dan was named after his sire and grandsire and Floyd was named for Lia's sire. Dan goes to Tony Marshall and Floyd is going to the Heath Thomas home in LA to team up with Zoey! The video is short. Floyd was not wanting to stay in the little bucket so he is only shown a split second! All the Lia pups are so nice. Spook is mine. Pepper goes to Matt Howell. Pat James gets to pick between Nell and Pris. Pepper is named after her Great Grandmother, Bruce Blihovde's Pepper. Spook is named for my Spook, grandmother more than once. I'm calling her Bandit. Nell is named for Lia's mother, Nogo Nell and Pris is named for Ole Dan's mother, Pris. Grandmother Pris is out of Bruce B's Pepper and Dale, son of Ole Rowdy! I am naming the Opal litter after nicknames of former presidents and first ladies.

Siggie has a Gap!

Siggie has a gap in her smile as of today. She had to have a cap put on a back tooth because of a cavity. She told me when I asked to see it--"it may be rusty now, Pop, but when I brush it is really shiny!" Siggie has gone to Florida with her family for 10 days. I will be crying all 10 of them as I miss her already. She has a mutt and I am the pup sitter. Her Dad picked it up by the highway where someone dumped it. He knew it would get run over where it was. Siggie claimed it. I told her that while she was gone I was going to dock that tail. She named her pup, Skittles, because that is her favorite candy!

Georgie/Radio Flyer Pups

Wayne Hawkins in Georgia has a litter of pups out of Ole Radio Flyer and Georgie Girl. Georgie is out of Spook and Shooter. I think he said half were females and half males. These would be great pups for anyone down that way that would like a good Feist. Wayne's email address is
waynesworld425@yahoo.com

Belle August 31, 1997 ~ June 9, 2011

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Galla Creek Belle Starr was born in August of 1997. Her mother was Todd Carter's Crook and her sire was Allar's Fred. My mother was diagnosed with brain cancer the spring of that year. That October she had surgery. I went over to Todd's a picked out my pup and paid for her but he kept her until my Mom came home from the surgery. The next summer Mom died on June 8, 1998, from the cancer and Belle was a year old that fall. I was working for myself fixing air conditioners and refrigerators. Belle stayed treed so much that I could not get much work done.

In the winter of 1998, I decided to let Belle stay in the house. I did not have to do any housebreaking. She was so smart she knew not to go to the bathroom in the house. She had a bunch of litters of pups and would usually have 7 to 9 pups. She never lost a pup. She loved kids and people, but she hated squirrels.
Belle has not been herself for a year, but kept hanging on. Today, she could not hang on any longer!

Opal Pups are Growing, too!

soon. Call me if you need me 479 890 8090

My cousin, Rick, sent this photo of Rusty. This was from a hunt in May. Hunting now is too hot for me and for my dogs. I will wait until fall. Looks like Rick and Rusty had a good day.
