Bonnie Sue Parker--Biding Her Time

First Bonnie climbed up in the tree and stood stone still....waiting, waiting
for the squirrel to get close enough to grab. When she would try to grab him, he would run back up the tree. Bonnie would lose her balance and fall out of the tree, but would climb back up and try it again. This cat and mouse....er....dog and squirrel caper went on for hours Friday afternoon. Bonnie never caught him, but he did not get a bite of corn either!

Buster Bushy Blast

Buster is out of Bonnie and Tie. He is figuring out what he is supposed to do. Here is Zach Kraft's email--

He found several today, but with the wind and all the leaves I couldn't find any of them. He put his nose up and started prancing like a deer, there was no doubt he was on another one. He got in some short pines and was looking up like one was timbering. I've had alot of trouble getting him to bark and had made up my mind I wouldn't shoot until he did. Ive been tying him to the tree to make him bark, but I couldn't do that with the squirrel on the run. So off we go through the pines, the squirrel wouldn't stop and Buster wouldn't bark. He finally yelped a little and I shot the squirrel. Very proud!! Zach

Lia/Dan Pups

Above is Dan's mother--she is a granddaughter of Old Rowdy. Below is Lia--she is a granddaughter of Old Rowdy. Lia is the dog standing on the tree.
Dan and Lia pups now have no dew claws and tails have been shortened. I am going through my deposits and I think with my Opal Tie pups. I will have enough to fill the orders I have. If I have extra pups I will post it on the blog. Lia is out of Pretty Boy Floyd and Nogo Nell. Nell is a Sq. Champion and Floyd a Grand Sq. Champion. Dan is a grandson of Nell. Galla Creek Belle, Old Rowdy, Romeo. His Mother's mother is a Sq. Champion and a daughter of Rowdy. She is a red Feist (Pepper) and Bruce Blihovde still owns her. She has to be 10 or 11 years old. Pepper looked a lot like Galla Creek Belle, but was slimmer like Nell. Nell is a direct daughter of Rowdy. Galla Creek Belle is a granddaughter of old Rowdy. Floyd is a littermate to Bonnie Sue Parker and a full brother to Spud. Saying all this to say--there is some good blood in these 6 pups veins!

Victoria Scroggins is holding the litter of Dan and his brothers and sisters. He is the black and white pup on top of the bunch. Dan's ticking came as he grew up. He got his color from his mother, Pris!
Here are two of the Dan/Lia pups. The one that looks like Lia is a female.
The above photo is Dan with his brothers.
Here are three of the Dan/Lia pups. They are growing and doing well.

Squirrel Mostly Black

A new squirrel came to my feeders today. He surely looked mostly black, but his belly was red. I am not sure what type of squirrel he was.

Puppy Love

These are Zeke and Siggie's pups. Aren't they gorgeous! Three boys and one girl! The black male is called Tat--because he looks like his Grandfather, Spud--Lil Tater! The white ones are Murphy, Cruz, and oh, I forget the other name, but they are named after the Rangers baseball team. Regina says they may sell some later, but they are not letting any of them go soon!

Viper Treed

I let Viper out today with Bonnie Sue. I went down to Galla Lake to fish a while. She came along and treed over a low water area and I could not get to her. She stay treed a long time, at least an hour and barked and barked. This is an old picture of her. She is not yet a year old. I can tell she is going to be a good one. She is out Larry Ellingson's Bell and O' Tie That Binds.

Opal

I took this in 2006, when Opal was born. Radio is Opal's sire and Spook had a litter of four pups that time, 3 females and one male. I remember I named the male Diamond, and two of the females were Opal and Pearl. I can't recall what gem we named the third female after. Pearl died in LA, run over by a truck. I never heard from Diamond's new owner. And for the like of me, I can't recall where that 3rd female went. Opal will have pups in a week and a half. Lia is going to have a litter the same day. Opal's pups are by Tie and Lia's from Dan. I have a stack of deposits. Looks like both females will have a nice size litter. May 18 is the due date for both.
