Billy Copeland of MS owns Case and now little Catalina. Catalina is a daughter of Case's brother so they will make a good pair someday for breeding. I wanted to honor Billy Copeland today. He went to Vietnam and was rewarded by being shot in the leg. He has suffered ever sense. Today he squirrel hunts from a mule. Walking to hunt would be painful. He admired my Harley. I admire him!

Dedicated
Hi Larry and Betty, Thought I would send you a pic of our hunt today. My cousin, Gary Pringle, has Multiple Sclerosis and refused to listen to the prognosis that he would have to spend his life in a wheelchair so he and a welder friend designed and built this "all-terrain"walker.He has always been an avid outdoorsman, the walker allows him to get out a little bit.Eli (MaxX2Rivers Sandy) has been coming along, I have been shooting a few squirrels and expect he will keep improving ,he is 22 months now. Take care-Al Larson
Al and Eli live in Conn. Sandy (mother of Eli) is now bred to Tie! We get two pups. They should be here in November. If anyone wants to claim one, let me know. Larry Ellingson usually lets me have a male and a female, and first pick on one of the two. Maybe we will have some red Feists again.

Island Squirrel Hunting In Tennessee
The pilot's name is Sterling. He and his friend, Roger Littlejohn, hunt on the Island in the background. These photos are of two separate hunts. The dogs sitting by Sterling are Ole Hickory and Smarty. The two treeing are Sam and Lucky Number Sever! Looks like the trees have not dropped their leaves yet!

Roll call for the Bonnie/Tie pups--Belaire, Catalina, Vet, Fraser, Kaiser, and Willys! Little Bella left today for Texas. By this weekend, we will have only Vet and perhaps little Willys as he still needs a good home. Price of Willys is $350. Astrid and Sigrid played with the pups today--a good time was had by all!

Piper Sniper
We heard from Pete Reimold again. Piper looks like she is figuring out her life's work--treeing squirrels. O'malley needs to get busy now and Pete will be set. Here is Pete's email:
Renfroes,
I know most squirrel dog fans can't wait for all the leaves to fall before they get their dogs out on a regular basis, but the thought of me waiting that long would probably kill me prematurely. The weather here in Tennessee although dry,has been great.Piper treed about 7-8 times this morning and I was once again able to harvest my personal limit of three squirrels(Thats about all I want to clean at one time).I can't remember when the weather been this mild this time of year, and the trees have held their leaves for so long.It seems we usually have a good frost by now as well as several hard cool rains. If the squirrel hunting gets much better than this with the leaves off, I don't know if I can stand it. Squirrel hunting has NEVER been this much fun for me.Please enjoy the pictures.

Zeke and Siggie
We were glad to hear from the Phillips family and see Zeke (Harley) and Sally Mae (Siggie--yes, they named her for our own Siggie). Here is the email. Thanks for sharing with all of us!
Good morning!
Just thought I would send these pictures of Siggie and Zeke out on our
daily walk(I walk...They run!)around our woods.They are both doing
fine!Siggie has learned to keep up with Zeke and he's not sure about
that.LOL
He checked out this tree with acorn scraps around it on his own...I didn't
have to help him at all.
Hope you are all doing fine!

Piper and O'Malley
Hey Renfroes,Hope you guys are doing well.I thought you'd like to see some pics of my little hounds! Piper(shooter x spook, aka Jack's sister)has really turned on to finding the squirrels.I shot three squirrels out for her the last three days we hunted this week.I have been blessed with a multitude of young inexperienced squirrels that readily give up their location by barking at the dogs. Many were shot out only 15-20 ft above the dogs head as they moved about the leaved out limbs. Now my only wish is that they would start barking back at the squirrels as they tree, got any suggestions? My Grits pup(oly x max,aka OMally)has been much slower to come around,I hope this is just a maturity issue.Grits was partially blinded in her right eye by a bee sting, she learned really quick to stay out of the bee-yard while we're working bees. The whole incident just makes me sick,as we all get stung around here much more than we'd like,me included.I've been working both dogs individually for about 11/2-2hrs a day each now that the temperature has finally cooled off some. Many thanks to Roger Littlejohn and Matt Howell for their many words of encouragement and suggestions.Best Wishes,Pete Reimold.

Siggie is holding him so you can see how pretty he is. He needs a home--not just any old home--but the best home in the world. We will not put him on a plane! He is too little! Price $350.
