Focus

I have had Dobs out and she is staying
treed. She has what I call focus. I
have put her back in the kennel, but
was so impressed with how much she had
matured since squirrel season ended.
She is going to make a fine squirrel
dog.

an old folder. The one is Baby Face's

Slew had 6 pups

Jean Shrewsbury sent pictures of Seattle
Slews pups with West VA Jack. Jean lives
in Fishersville, VA. (Augusta County). She
is sort of in the middle of the state. Jean calls
Slew, Sadie. The litter has 3 boys and 3
girls. Jean's Dad lives in West VA. and Jack
came from there. If anyone over that way would
like a beautiful Feist pup. Jean has several
of the pups reserved, but she may have one or
two for sale.

The pups were born June 26. Jean's telephone
number is ...well, email me and I will give
it to you (gallacreekarky@yahoo.com)..

I bet that pretty male with the heart on his
back is sold!

Galla Creek Heath

Steve Cagle came and picked up his
pup from Spud and Cranky. His best
friend Megan bought Heath for Steve.
Steve hopes to go to medical school
and Megan is wanting to be a pharmacist.
Heath will keep them grounded...at
the bottom of a oak tree with a squirrel
in the top...is our wish!

Three Feist Pups 4 Sale

I am posting this video so Bob Holcomb can see the three male pups we have left from
Cork/Judge Roy Bean's litter. I don't think Hollywood will be calling me to come out and be movie producer!

Our Mission

This is Athena Lee. She lives in North
Carolina with her family--Eddie and
Cherelle Whitfield. Athena is out of
Pretty Boy Floyd and Tia.

Our mission is to preserve, promote and
improve the Old Time Mtn. Feist that we
grew up loving in the Ozarks of Arkansas.

Athena is promoting the Feist breed in
the Carolina's. Cherelle emailed us to
ask if Belle Starr was ok after the snake
bite (and she is). Here is part of her
email...you can see, she is hooked on
Feist dogs.

Mr. Renfroe,

I am so glad to hear that Belle is doing well, I was so
worried about her.

I have to admit when my husband first talked about wanting a Fiest -I didn't even know what that was much less want one. Now that we have Lee I can't imagine ever owning another type of dog. I am addicted to your website as well. I check it everyday to see what is happening in the Feist world.

Eddie and I are talking about getting another fiest - a male this time to breed with Lee next year. Hopefully that will work out and we can get the male from you. We hope to get some of the Great Galla Creek bloodlines flowing here in North Carolina.

Have a great day!
Cherelle

Charlie and His Pup

Charlie Hall of Cabot, Ar has been waiting
almost 2 years to get his Spook pup. His
Feist squirrel dog was getting up in years
and he wanted to get a young one going. His
older Feist is a son of Cocoa who is Cranky's
Grandmother...small world. Hoyt Hall came with
Charlie to get his pup; Hoyt has been a squirrel
hunter all his life and he may want a share of
Charlie's new pup.

Stuart

A few squirrels have moved in my woods
and Stuart is starting to tree. If I had
had squirrels he would have been going
months ago.

Cork's Pups are home!

Corker's pups are finally here from
Texas. We want to keep a female but
we will have one female and the males
for sale. Lucas Parks is getting the
male with the black head. Will Keen
is getting the brindle female. Galla
Creek Houston has already gone to the
Tommy Collins home of Willis, Texas.
But that leaves: Austin, Dallas, Antonio
And...little Amarillo. Sherry Vance
nicknamed her Piglet as she is little,
fat, and very, very friendly. Oh, do you
wonder where Piglet is in the Kennel
photo...well she is in the house with
Siggie watching cartoons on a pallet.

Tressie

Rodney sent an update on Tressie (out of
Carolina and Spud. Also, he measured her
and she is 15 inches at the withers.
Here's what Rodney had to say--
Saturday we went to a WTDA hunt in Galax, Virginia.
I had to drop out of the hunt due to my leg pain.
Tressie won best of class, breed and best of Show
for a total of 50 points. She now has the win she
needed and 70 points towards WTDA bench champion.
I entered her in the treeing contest and she took
first place. It was so hot she only had to tree
for 30 seconds with 26 barks. She is doing good.
She has grown a little.

Tweek # 1 Flyball Feist

Got this email from Amy and Tweek about
chasing a little ball instead of a squirrel.
Here is part of the message. Tweek is a
ball chaser, indeed!

Dear Larry,

After 2 years of consistent, hard racing, Tweek, daughter of Max and Kate Freeman, has become Flyball’s Number One Treeing Feist in the Nation (www.flyball.org).

Tweek just turned 4 this month and has just earned over 17,000 points in Flyball. Breaking that down she has run well over 800 races to reach this pinnacle.

Tweek is rock solid and is a key height dog on our team, SuperNova. She is competitive and accurate. And while she loves Flyball, chasing squirrels is her Number One passion.

Thanks so much to you and your Fiests for letting me have such a wonderful – truly Special – partner.

Our Best to you and your family,

Amy Lillibridge Sadowski and Tweek

WE are hoping Amy can get a male from Carolina
Crossfire and Spud.

Puppies on Parade

These pups are out of Tobin's Daisy
(Spook/Max cross) and McAndrews Raider.
Two are mine, two are Brian Tobins, and
one is Wade's of Springfield, MO. Posting
this so Wade can see how they are growing.

Snaker

A good Old Time Feist is an all around dog.
They will do whatever you need done. They
can bring in the cows, tree a squirrel for
dinner, or kill a snake--poison or not.
Belle Starr is an Old Time Feist. If moles
are in the yard--she'll dig them up and kill
them. She hates armadillas. She hates snakes.
She hates strange dogs, deer or anything that
is not mine. She killed what we called a Spread
Adder snake last week. He was big and fat. She
grabbed him and slung him until his guts came out.
today she went after a little snake--a Copperhead.
It was in the monkey grass by the sidewalk. She
knew that was a bad place...well, she grabbed
it and it grabbed her and hung a fang in her
lip. But she got killed him. Her lip and neck
are swollen and she does not feel well. Belle
Starr is a great Feist dog! She will be 11 in
August. She is my only Feist that stays in the
house.

Squirrel Hunting

Found these photos on the internet.
I think this might over stimulate a
Feist pup.

Measuring at the withers

Here are two of my smaller dogs. Gollie
was over 13 inches and Stuart above that.
Dogs are taller than you would think at the
withers.

Connolly's Spotty

This dog is from BaHaMa Kennel out of GA...breeder is
Julie Barnes. Brian Connolly of Boston owns him. He
sure is a looker. Brian said there were not a lot of
squirrel hunters in Boston...but he and Spotty are two.
Spotty is not a Feist.

old doll!

Measuring Wicket

I made this to measure the height of my
dogs. I think it will work pretty well.
It has holes drilled and ta pin to run
though the height. I just maked the height
with a magic marker.

Remodeling Job

I am remodeling my whelping houses. One is
completed and I put Cranky and her pups in
it this afternoon. I built the house on the
back as a summer 'cool' house, but it will
come off and I can replace it with the
insulated house in the winter.
