Galla Creek Romeo

Romeo has a new owner in Mississippi.
He is a son of Bell and Max. Nogo Nell is
having a litter of pups and Romeo is
the sire.

Well, actually the owner is not new. He
has had Romy over a year, but different
owner would be a better way of expressing
that. We sure miss Romy.

Rosco & Seattle!

Rocsco (Matt Howell's dog) came by for a visit.
He and Slew went out on a little hunt. I did
not realize until I took the picture that Rosco
looks a lot like Opal.

Galla Creek Tobias!

Tobias was howling saying "I will not leave
my Galla Creek!" But once home with Jacob
and his friend, Megan he is going to love it.
Lots of attention and abundance of squirrels
to chase in Louisiana.

get going. He says "bring 'em on"!

I am naming Jim E's sons after the tribes of Isreal.

Wayne Hawkins' Hard Tack

Hard Tack is out of Cranky's last litter. Max
is the sire of the pup. He treed on his own
yesterday. Wayne has really worked with
his pup. The attention a dog gets makes
a big difference in how he turns out. I always
say it is hard for a dog to timber a squirrel in
a pen. We are proud of Tack. This picture was
taken several months ago. We are anxious to see
what Tack looks like now.

Jim E's pups are running around all

Spud put his mark on several of them.

Galla Creek Spook!

Spook does not bark in the kennel. She
does not fuss with other dogs. She is all
business. One of my favorite Feists of
all those I have owned.

Alton Pate lives near Mena, AR. He loves
his Feist dogs. One of his males is called
Redneck. I will post his picture tomorrow.
Alton had a logging woods accident and his
back was injured.

Jim E Sue and her Pups!

Let Jim E Sue out to take a new picture of her babes.
They were piled up as it was cool and raining so the
picture isn't that great. She went straight to the woods
and treed a squirrel. She got Old Rowdy wound up and
he came up to her and treed! I will post his picture with
her tomorrow. He is her grandfather, born in 1990.

Feist in North West AR

Feists are versitle dogs. Whatever the job
they can handle it. This was in North West
AR, early 1900s.

Monday, May 14, 2007

This is Amos Moses and Mike Joyner.
Amos is out of Dummy so he is a half
brother to Spook.

Allar's Fred

This is Old Rowdy's son, Allar's Fred.
Fred is gone and Rowdy is barely hanging
in.

Carolina

I had Carolina and her three pups in the house.
When I let her go to the bathroom, she would be
gone 3 hours--treed up on Galla Mount. I had to
put her and the three pups out in the whelping
kennel. I was afraid something might happen to her
on one of her hunts and I would have pups to hand
raise.

Hand raised pups are not as good as those that stay
with their momma dog. She teaches them discipline.
Hand raised pups don't have a close dog to dog tie.
They bond with humans first. I prefer a pup that
Momma has taught to mind.

Dean Wright's Tia Pups

Well, something good did happen yesterday. Dean
Wright's vet said Tia was not going to have pups, but
she had 5, 4 males and one female. The sire is my
Radio Flyer. Radio is an uncle to Tia. I have really good
luck with the Uncle cross. Radio is a full brother to
Otis, who is Tia's sire. Dean is keeping the female and
maybe some of the males. Looks like Radio put his mark
on all those white pups.

Rowdy!

Not everything is always happiness and fun
when dealing with and loving dogs. Old Rowdy,
born 1990, is into his last days. Sometimes he has
a spark of energy and excitement....but the end is
not far away. Sometimes dogs get sick, some have bad
accidents, sometimes one just disappears. I have had
all this happen, and it is depressing....my prayer today
is for something encouraging to come my way!

Playing!

This is a Spook/Radio pup, Pearl. I believe in
handling, socializing, letting kids play with little
pups. As soon as they have their eyes open and
can move around freely, I let my Grandkids
play with them.

Dabs Treed first Squirrel 5/7/07

Dabs treed a squirrel yesterday. It timbered
and got in a hollow tree. So later, he came up
dragging this squirrel he caught. I guess since
I let the one he treed get away, he decided he
would have to catch a squirrel to get one...and
he did.

photo. Floyd is out of Max/Spook. WTDA
stands for World Tree Dog Assn.

this litter.

Gumbo!

This is Gumbo a full sister to Smily Gal, who is
the mother of our Two Socks. We owned Gumbo
at one time. She is of the old Beeks' line of Feists.

My Two Socks!

This is my Two Socks. He is out of Smily Gal and Two
Socks. I went up in Missouri and bought him. He is a
Feist from the old Howard Beeks' line of Dutch Mills, AR.
He has two white socks like his sire. I want a male dog
not kin to Spook for an outcross. Maybe Socks will be the
one!
